1  Yada Yada Yada / A Very Nice Story / Re: Chapter Two: An Unexpected Meeting on: March 02, 2007, 12:42:47 PM
I got my email from the centre a bit late (there seem to have been some confusion), so here I am having finally read the second chapter with some nostalgia.

Oh, all those familiar street names, and all the lovable NA characters.
Did I say 'all'?
I got a rude shock at the end of the chapter to find *him* there.
I hope *he* stays out of mischief.   Roll Eyes

Dear dear Henry  Kiss - so protective of Catherine;

"...and moved as if to intercept her, but when Catherine saw Eleanor seated nearby, she ran past Henry to bestow a warm embrace upon her."

I was in suspense at first wondering why, and then found out that Henry wanted to protect Catherine from his father (it is so instinctive). Dear dear Henry  Kiss

Is it March yet.   Grin

All I can remember is that it was a book by Harrold Robbins with pages marked by turning the corners very neatly.
This was a book going around among the girls in my class.
I went straight to these pages, but once I had to hide it under my shirt because I heard footsteps. I didn't do a good job of hiding and it fell to the ground.
My horrid brother took one look at the book and then at my face and burst out laughing because I had never blushed so furiously ever in my life.
He couldn't stop laughing and took to asking me if I had finished reading 'the' book in front of our parents.

I returned the book the very next day and didn't attempt any such thing till I was errrr..ummm.. grown up enough.  Grin

Oh dear!! Haven't yet got over the misuse of the novel NA by AD, and now this!!!

Who's he  (or his supporters) kidding by talking about the 'darker' side of the novel. We know and he knows that this topic gives him the opportunity to be at his lecherous best.

I am so fed up of him

I'm afraid he's just again and again rewriting JA just like that other pest  Wink (you know who).

Waaaa!!I didn't realise this board had started. I thought it was to be next month.

Wonderful, Mags, but too short  Smiley Loved it, especially Henry. Trust him to make Catherine see Valancourt as he was.

The gliding Mathew!! Hmmmmm!!
I'm sure he has a great part in the mystery.
But Catherine likes him so he's not an antagonist. Hmmmm!! What else? He takes the dogs for a walk. Something tells me, this is important.  Undecided

I shall stop playing detective now and put aside my magnifying glass and hat.

I just love the illustrations  Smiley

It's 9th of February - just a week away from Valentine's day. So the trip to Bath is very timely.

Can't wait for the next chapter.
Thanks for the treat Mags  Smiley Nothing better than more of Henry!  Kiss

Well, I don't really mind buying 'Regency World'. Maybe that's because I have visited their centre in Bath twice and feel I have to support them for their hard work in keeping the name of Jane Austen alive there, as well as in making her presence felt, with their JA festivals etc., which I love to read about.

Without them there would not be much going on, except that  Sally Lunn's would sell JA Sally Lunn's buns and that would be it  Wink

I also think their JA tour is a good thing too.

Well I have done my bit in favour of the magazine.  Grin

Maybe I know no better, but it's fine with me.  Smiley

Thanks keeba!! *bows and courtsies*   Smiley

Yes, I was more sensible and took down my Christmas tree on  7th January  Wink after the 'Three King's Day' .

Mandy, you might want to make that 'half a page' a day when it comes to the description of the picturesque. I almost dozed off during those moments.

Actually I am struggling through 'Clermont' - it is such a repetition of Udolpho with those picturesque descriptions.

Oh dear!! I must be dumb or something.

Is the on-line magazine with the news letter that one receives? If it is then I get the cake for dumbness, because till today I never realised there was something on line.
I thought it was just a preview of the magazine.  Huh

Well, I was in India in this very historical place and after a hard day of sightseeing we had a party at the hotel where we were staying. My older daughter couldn't believe that our hotel was a vegetarian one and wouldn't be offering any meat dishes for the grand dinner, and said that was so stupid - but she had to eat her words along with the fabulously delicious Indian vegetarian m,al and so the New Year started off with her learning something  Wink

We enjoyed vigorous Bollywood style dancing from an hour before midnight and danced till the clock struck midnight.

It was lovely  Smiley

I look forward to discussing it hear with the others.  Smiley

The title reminds me of a certain Catherine with such thoughts   Grin

11  Yada Yada Yada / The Chawton Round Table / Re: Wishbone NA on YouTube on: October 11, 2006, 10:07:54 AM
What???!!!
Not a sinnngle bath tub!!! That will not do.

Thank you Heather. The longed for episodes  Smiley

Now they know what to do with the story, and  Catherine is no dreamer of sexy men.
Why is it that some get NA while others have no idea what it is all about?

I still prefer NA1's Henry Tilney  Kiss
This one is a close second
12  Yada Yada Yada / The Chawton Round Table / Re: Wishbone P&P on YouTube on: September 03, 2006, 10:08:14 AM
Oh, that was fun!
The best Caroline ever. Such a good aim. The tossed pearls land right inside poor people's cup.
And that seductive bit of stretching to refresh herself, over backwards, close to Darcy, made me *chuckle* and *snort* a great deal. Her wanting to be escorted to the punch bowl was extremely hilarious Grin
She looked like the P&P3 Caroline while Bingley looked a mixture of P&P2&3. Mandy, I distinctly saw something on his head too  Wink

For a second there I thought Netherfield looked like Pemberley.

Well both Darcy and Lizzy were definitely 'most seriously confused.' Smiley

Thanks, Heather. Hope Wishbone NA comes up at some future point. Would love to watch Henry in his many layered greatcoat.
