I own this movie, but my copy has either disappeared or is now in a box in my parents' storage unit.  Anyway, I was at the video store today to see about getting season 5 of MI-5 (it's still out!!  ), when all of a sudden, I noticed a copy of Kandukondain Kandukondain on the shelf.  So I rented it and am now watching it.

My question (yes, Virginia, there is a question) is, is Aish dubbed when she's speaking?  The only time I've heard her voice is in B&P, but this character has a completely different voice.  It's a lot higher and more little girlish.

Has anyone else noticed this?  Or is it common knowledge and I've missed it?

Though Tamil is one of the many languages the linguist Aish can speak, she had a playback (?) voice/another person speaking for her.

My understanding is that most Bollywood films are dubbed--the singing, at least. Reeba, you probably have more experience with B'wood than anyone here--what do you think?

That's true Mags.

The dialogues are in the actors' own voice, but the songs are 99% of the times, dubbed.
I think that's a good idea. Sort of spreading the butter around.

I've noticed that, too.  It was a little distracting to me.

Slightly off topic but I have an extra copy of Kandukondain Kandukondain on DVD if anyone would like it or knows of anyone who would like it.  It's Region 1, never been opened.

I'd love to have it, if still available!!!  Haven't seen it for several years.  Let me know and I'll send you postage $$$.

Great!  It's all yours.  Just click on the little envelop icon under my Richard Armitage photo (it's like he's watching over my email address with his tender eyes......sorry, what was I saying?) and send me an email with your mailing address.  I'll put it in the mail to you this week  Grin  And don't worry about postage $$.  I've got it covered!
